The winter weather has arrived! A cold January, a chilled February, and a blustery March are in order for the town of Ligonier. Epiphany, on the other hand, is taking the polar plunge into 2020 with both feet. Check out our plans for the winter months, and feel free to join us for a number of fun occasions:

Sunday Christian Ed: Kerygma, the Sermons of the New Testament

Join us for our Christian Ed series, Kerygma, the Sermons of the New Testament, starting January 19. The series is a look into the sermons that Jesus’s followers preached following his death and resurrection. When the opportunity arose for these first Christians to preach the gospel, what did they say? How did they say it? Was there a central message they all hoped to communicate? What lessons can transfer from their preaching to our own Gospel communication in 2020? Join us this Spring at 9:00 a.m. in the Bethlen Community’s Heritage Center.

Seculosity: The Book Tour — Thursday, March 12, Ligonier Town Hall

It is Epiphany’s privilege and joy to bring author David Zahl to Ligonier for the promotion of his new book Seculosity: How Career, Parenting, Technology, Food, Politics, and Romance Became Our New Religion (And What To Do About It). The book’s central thesis is that even though organized religion is on the decline, the religious impulse to be “enough” is manifesting itself in a number of traditionally secular areas of life. Zahl will be sharing from his book and discussing the future of American religion on Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Ligonier’s Town Hall. The event is open to the public.

Church Office Update

Epiphany has concluded major renovations on its church office, and will be hosting a number of volunteer Saturdays for members to straighten up, paint, and decorate the office. Stay tuned for weekend volunteer opportunities where you can help!
